Crude Oil Prices

I took Economics 101 in night school for 3 hours going to one class and knowing instinctively that the monster 2-inch-thick textbook and I were not going to be friends. That was 35 years ago. Over time, I've gone to the College of Hard Knocks and learned quite a bit.

2nd Amendment, Duck Hunting and Rocks

In the last year I've become increasingly interested in guns of all types. Prior to this I had lived my entire life in a big city and it wasn't legal to discharge them on my property. What's more, my wife Kathy prohibited them in the house because we had small children. I know you can have gun locks and safes, but it was a good idea at the time to just not have guns around our home.

US Government Bankruptcy

If you talk with any of my close friends who've known me for years, they'll tell you I'm the eternal optimist. My wife Kathy will absolutely confirm this. But lately, that's all changed.

Wisconsin State Senators AWOL

Are you aware of what's happening up in Wisconsin? Today there was going to be a vote in the state senate about rescinding collective bargaining rights for state employees.

Business License

In many states you need a license to operate a business. It's not too much different than a drivers license. But a business license is all about money, while a drivers license is about safety.

Politics and Golf

I love to golf. I'm not a great golfer, but I'm getting better. My golf coach, Joel Suggs, is now 1,000 miles away, but I still use the tips he's taught me to keep the ball in play.
