President Obama's 2011 State of the Union Address

I don't know about you, but I signed up long ago to receive news alerts and daily summaries of news from quite a few mainstream media outlets. One happens to be the New York Times.

I awake this morning to discover this gem in my Inbox:

Obama to Press Centrist Agenda in His Address

Well looky looky, our President wants to get re-elected. My oh my. The polls seem to show that the American people are disgusted with his fundamental changes. Since meeting with former President Bill Clinton several weeks ago, President Obama has had time to develop a strategy to dupe us.

Our President is trying to come to the center, that place where all the independent voters live. He's knocking on your door. Do you remember those hilarious skits in the early days of Saturday Night Live? The ones with the talented Gilda Radner and the Land Shark? Those funny comedy acts were just a parody of the Little Red Riding Hood fable.

What's more, in an effort to get many to watch his State of the Union address on January 25, 2011, President Obama created a movie trailer. This was sent to his contributors and supporters yesterday:

You know, I have no recollection of any other President ever doing this - creating a slick preview video in an effort to get the buzz going. Am I wrong about that? If so, correct me in the comments below. Be sure to create a link to any similar video trailers done prior to the State of the Union speech. I want ones from Presidents Bush, Clinton, etc. if you can find them.

One of his statements in the video really struck me. It was very cleverly worded, exactly what I would expect from a politician. Our President says, at 2:45 into the video:

"But we're up to it, as long as we come together as a people -- Republicans, Democrats, independents -- as long as we focus on what binds us together as a people, as long as we're willing to find common ground even as we're having some very vigorous debates."

Oh how I wish I could interview President Obama. Here are a few of the tough questions I would ask:

"Mr. President, you said in your January 22, 2011 trailer State of the Union-Preview-Buzz video that we should come together as a people. What I'm wondering is why you feel this is so important now?

You didn't have this frame of mind in the past 24 months when you force-fed the Stimulus Spending Bills, the Cap and Tax Bill, and the ginormous Health Care Bill. If my memory and all the news at that time are accurate, the Republicans were not allowed to actively participate in the formation of those pieces of legislation. I don't remember weeks of vigorous debates as one might expect with landmark legislation. What's up with that?

You also said in the polished trailer, "We're also going to have to deal with our deficits and our debt in a responsible way ...." I don't know about you, but when I spend more each week than I make and run out of savings, I go bankrupt. Right now, that's what's happening with the USA. We're spending more than we're bringing in, we have no National Savings Account, and we're borrowing money in epic amounts. What's more, you're printing money with less and less backing each day that's devaluing dollars already in circulation.

You've signed two budget bills that have sunk us deeper in debt. You don't seem to be creating a budget that's paying off our national debt and creating a National Savings Account. My questions are:

Can you define what reasonable means to you and tell the American people, and our Chinese bankers, just exactly how you plan to cut hundreds of billions of dollars from next year's budget?

Can you share with us what new taxes you plan to impose on the American people if that's part of your plan?"

What questions would you ask our President if you had his ear and he was in front of a camera like he must have been yesterday afternoon? Tell me in the comments below. Remember, these are questions pointed towards President Obama, not any past president. You can do that on your own blog. Let's stay on topic here. We can't change the past, but we can have an impact on the future.

Remember, if you like this post, I need you to click the Share button up at the top of the page and do everything you can to spread this amongst your friends on Facebook, those in your email box, etc. Let's get the word out about the real truth and our latest wolf in sheep's clothing.

This is like a relationship with a borderline personality disorder. First they abuse and degrade you. After you duck and cover, and back away, they turn all nice and loving, and tell you what you want to hear to draw you in again for another round of abuse. Of course narcissism is a form of this disorder, and Barry shows a lot of the symptoms

DON'T FALL FOR IT!!

Tim, isn't it possible he's learned from his mistakes and really is coming to the center? My hard right friends don't believe so, but I do. Maybe it's faith."Hope?"

Enjoy the snow up there. We moved south recently. Love snow...it's the cold I hate :-)

COMMENT BY Tim Carter:

Greg,

Hope is the emotion of last resort. If you "hope" for something, it means you have no control over the outcome.

We have control each time we go to the voting booth.

As for our President, all of his past performance both as a Illinois state legislator, a US Senator and now President clearly show he's one of the most liberal politicians to be elected to the highest office of the land.

He's not made any mistakes, in his mind that is. Our President wants to be re-elected more than he wants life itself in my opinion.

Want an early prediction? The national election in 2012 is going to mirror what happened here in New Hampshire on November 2, 2010. The independent voters in this state woke up. They saw liberal and socialist policies for what they are.

The election here in New Hampshire was historic. Never before was the shift so great back to conservative values.

With the Internet allowing thousands of blogs like mine, free video uploads of politicians actually talking, etc. we are now more informed. The Internet, history will show, helped save the nation. We are able to freely share the truth about all politicians.

As much as Obama tries to come to the center, his rubberband liberal ideology will pull him back most of the time. Plus, most in this country know him for what he is.

greg on January 23, 2011 9:19 AM

Mr Hussein, I was not born yesterday, if I had been, your words might ring true. During the last session of the lame duck congress, why did you allow the tone to be set for the future, and only now ask for bipartisanship? When you had the power to reign in Pelosi/Reed, why did you not ask them to not persue the radical agenda pushing through pieces of legislation that were sure to set the stage for partisanship bickering in the future, and only now you champion working together? Not so fast Hussein, not so fast. Your Cloward and Piven strategy(Google Cloward and Piven) unfortunately may not even be reversable now. You are sinking the ship and will inevitably, with the help of media, blame it on Bush.
I am certainly looking forward to reading the more acurate history book written by a great American, Tim Carter.

Jim Blair on January 23, 2011 9:19 AM

I would want to ask him why he brought the fox into the henhouse ...errr, I mean why did he put Goldman Sachs and JP Morgan Chase in place to run his admin? Aren't these the groups that created the financial mess so they could then take advantage of it?

Tend to your 'garden and hearth and home' folks, because the Elites in DC are looking after themselves.Wall Street and DC are like two wolves telling the American people ( sheep) : 'This is a democracy so let's vote on what to eat at lunch".

Steve in ustin on January 23, 2011 9:28 AM

OMG, next thing you know he'll ask America to support Apple Pie. Great parody material here. It would be hilarious if we could get others to make videos this week using the exact same words, just changing "president" to their current position, as though they were the ones who would be delivering the speech.

"Hi everybody, as some of you know, on Tuesday I'm going to be delivering the state of the union. Now, I'm not finished yet, I'm still working on it, but, because you guys have been there from the start, because, it was your passion and vision that helped get me to create The Fire Pit, I just wanted to give you, a little bit of a preview of what I'm going to be saying. Y'know... "

Shall I transcribe the entire speech for you?

ATB Fan on January 23, 2011 9:29 AM

Well, for one the USD has had no tangible backing for years. The gold standard ended in 1971. Since then we've been using fiat currency. It only has value because the Fed says it does. China and Russia are already trading in a common money (and it ain't the dollar).
The Banksters and the Corporations set policy in America. The president is just a figurehead, a puppet. Placed there to give people the illusion of choice.
Google "Bilderberg, The Trilateral Commission, The CFR, the movie "Invisible Empire". You'll find out who the real boogymen are....

Tim on January 23, 2011 9:49 AM

It is truly unfortunate that we have a president who is more interested in his rockstar/hollywood image than substance. If President Obama were to honestly represent his views and philosophy to the public, I am not sure he would have been elected in the first place. The fact that he has to change according to his audience or the political winds of the day shows me that he has no grounding in principle. Consequently, I do not waste my time listening to President Obama's speeches or statements to the public. I focus on his actions because they are normally diametrically opposed to what he says. Words can be manipulated but actions reveal true intentions.

Tim, you mention hard questions in this article that you would like to ask President Obama. This would be a colossal waste of time. There are questions that I would also like to ask. It's the answers I don't trust. Given President Obama's track record, this would be an exercise in futility, if you could ever ask him initially, and then somehow get him to answer the questions at all.

Ryan on January 23, 2011 9:59 AM

Hi Tim,
I have to respectfully disagree with you, Obama and the liberal Democrats gave the Republicans every opportunity to participate in the formation of legislation. The Republicans could give their ideas as long as they would agree with the Democrats, and to help the liberals go against the wishes of the American people. And of course we have to come together as Americans, Democrats, Independents, and Republicans, to the far left and become one with the President.

I guess I’m being cynical, but I don’t know of any questions to ask of our President that he would be truthful and care about. I don’t think he cares about our country or it’s people. He’s only concerned about his ideas, Marxism, and how to implement them in our country. He doesn’t care what you think or what I think. That was totally clear when they rammed Obama Care down our throats against the will of the people. I fear for the well being of my children and grand children. My parents lived through the Great Depression and my father fought in WWII. That generation made this country great which helped us thrive and become a super power, which in turn gave us the ability to help and feed the world. Sadly, this President is throwing all that away.

Mr. President, I have no questions for you. You’re like a spoiled child. You won’t listen.

Mike on January 23, 2011 10:45 AM

Obama will only disguise his agenda. The man hates the private sector, especially the oil and gas business. He knows nothing but futile attempts of government solving problems created by itself and the liberal mantra of punishing the rich, even after they die. He calls it "fairness", but he, Nancy and Harry decide what fair is. He holds his nose and appoints the head of GE to his Economic Advisory Panel, a company which benefits from gov't handouts and green energy regulations. Don't believe him.

Jim Kalahar on January 23, 2011 10:52 AM

As has been said before, "HE LIES"!

Glen on January 23, 2011 11:09 AM

I agree with Glen. He lies, has always lied and will continue to lie. If people choose to believe that he has changed, we will all suffer.

Joan on January 23, 2011 11:47 AM

In answer to the question - Has any other president created a video previewing the State of the Union for supporters I would have to say NO.

Has any other president previewed his State of the Union for major supporters? I think the answer is YES.

The difference here is transparancy.

John C on January 23, 2011 12:08 PM

It's amazing what a little a$$-whuppin' will do to a president. Yes, NOW we must all work together (now that we have no other choice). Obama wants to work to make life better for the American people, and he will, unless the REPUBLICANS stop his benevolent legislation. Look for more demonization of the REPUBLICANS, who only want to take health care, the right of all Americans, away from the needy. The Rs are evil, you know, and verra verra greedy, too.

Of course Obama will come to the center now, as he knows the majority of Americans want him to do. He can move to the center because he still has Harry Reid in place to stop anything that even approaches fiscal sanity.

When President Clinton moved to the center, both houses of Congress were led by Republicans; the Democrats could still stop legislation, but it wasn't quite so easy. With the Senate still in Dem hands, Obama can appear centrist while the Senate stops anything that actually is centrist, even if only by not bringing the legislation to the floor for a vote (as they plan to do with the repeal of ObamaCare; don't want to make any Dems go on record with a vote that might cost them re-election in '12--or worse, vote with the Republicans to repeal and replace).

Obama is combing through regulations with the intent of getting rid of any that stand in the way of business. Uh huh, all the while his various minions put in place job-killing, America-killing regulations to enact cap and tax without going through Congress--which refused to pass cap and tax, knowing they'd be fired by the voters in '10 if they did.

I fully expect careful stealth by Obama for the next two years, abetted by the MSM, who will never disclose it. It will be a miracle if unemployment remains as high as it is, given the resilience of Americans and the American economy, but if anyone can keep unemployment high, it's Obama & the Dems.

Polly on January 23, 2011 12:18 PM

Ok this was academy award acting. Loved the part about the smaller government. He let his mask slip when he said that he was elected on the basis of this approach. Unfortunately, his actions have been exactly opposite to his words.
I felt like I was watching an episode of 'V'. The visitors, looking just like us do things allegedly for the benefit of humanity, closing with the words "we are at peace always" when in fact under their human skin they are reptiles who plan to have us for dinner...in the Hannibal Lecter use of that phrase!

Craig Mouldey on January 23, 2011 12:21 PM

Mr. Obama's jockeying for a second term is not surprising. Remember his ABC News interview from (almost) one year ago? He said:

"I'd rather be a really good one-term president than a mediocre two-term president."

I don't think Plan A turned out so well (tanking poll numbers agree), sooooooo.... Looks like he's going with Plan B.

My lame attempt at humor aside, I simply don't trust Mr. Obama. His political representation is replete with far-left liberal ideology that is not at all compatible with my individualism.

Bob Gengler on January 23, 2011 12:32 PM

Of fur shur, John C. Obama is all about transparency. And if you believe that, I'm sure you'll vote for him again in '12.

Until then, be sure to stay away from all talk radio and anything on the Fox News Channel, at least until Obama can figure out a way to make those people stop talking. All those "lies" can only hurt the complacency of the American people, which makes implementation of Obama's modified and simplified Final Solution for America all the more difficult.

Notice how often Obama urges all Americans to "public service." If only everyone would engage in public service, with no one working to produce goods or services for profit, American could reach the greatness Obama envisions: everyone equally poor (except for Obama and a few of his closest friends, of course).

Polly on January 23, 2011 12:33 PM

We are now hearing from the Obama who is standing in a hole that he dug for himself. All of a sudden bi-partisanship is a good thing. Bi partisanship to Obama means Republicans should forget what the people sent them to Washington to do and cave to the Democrat's agenda. If the GOP falls for this snake oil salesman's malarkey, they are no better than the Democrats.

The only question that I would ask Obama is, "Mr President, will you be returning to Chicago and resuming your duties as a community organizer in 2013 or will you, perhaps, return to your homeland...wherever that is?".

Gene on January 23, 2011 12:35 PM

It is very obvious that he is still locked into the Obama Progressive bubble and still can't see the light outside.

Cobras on January 23, 2011 12:46 PM

Hey Tim, you didn't really expect anything different from him did you???? Well all I can say is he WILL NOT get my vote.....and I am a DEMOCRAT......he has done totally nothing for the seniors......and I hope all the seniors will remember that election day.......I know I will.....

Mona on January 23, 2011 12:53 PM

Forgot to mention Tim, I heard Obama's going to be on facebook and you can ask questions....so go for it......

Mona on January 23, 2011 12:54 PM

I'm a nut case birther, and while my eyes were not counter-rotating like the propellers on a twin engined airplane, I noticed the news that the governor of Hawaii can't get Obama's certificate of live birth located. On the other hand, there are documents that certify his birth in Kenya. These are as ligitimate as some alleged certificate of birth from Hawaii that we cannot be allowed to see. We can't let up on this until the truth is made certain. I'd rather put up with a ligitimate President Biden than the lie that we have there now! All that Obama signed into law would be voided. We cannot give up on this!!!

Steve Bukosky on January 23, 2011 1:03 PM

WOW ! He is a master of deceit. He is no more coming to the middle than Rachael, Keith, Ed and Chris Tingle. This man is a total phoney ! Want to understand him a little better, read the article by Dr. Sam Vaknin about Obama the narcissist. Google it.

Chris Long on January 23, 2011 1:51 PM

Everything that he has done in his political career leads me to believe that this man will not change. And, as everyone is aware, his life before politics is a blank!!! There is a reason he doesn't want any of it disclosed!!

Joseph Poquette on January 23, 2011 2:29 PM

It seems as though the Left does everything in desperation these days breaking laws when necessary
to further their agenda with all the double speak double standards we are sick of it all I will not vote for this man no matter how nice he appears his actions speak load and clear

Rex on January 23, 2011 2:40 PM

I noticed that while he was speaking, his eyes were blinking faster than normal. I know he's reading a monitor, but even when I am staring at my computer screen, my eyes aren't blinking like that. I was curious about what that might mean. So, I searched for information on rapid eye blinking. Changingminds.org had an article on body language and here's what it had to say regarding eye blinking. "Blink rate tends to increase when people are thinking more or are feeling stressed. This can be an indication of lying as the liar has to keep thinking about what they are saying. Rapid blinking blocks vision and can be an arrogant signal, saying 'I am so important, I do not need to see you'." Hmm, how 'bout that?

Marie on January 23, 2011 2:48 PM

I agree with Ryan that Obama does not have any principles and therefore says whatever he want to suit his heeds at the time. He is a flat out liar, a sociopath. Actions speak louder than words.

S.J. Hurtado on January 23, 2011 2:58 PM

Craig, your comment about Obama's academy award performance and an episode of "V" reminded me of one of my favorite "Twilight Zone" episodes, ending with Patty crying out to Mr. Chambers, "Don't get on that ship! The rest of the book, 'To Serve Man,' it's... it's a cookbook!"

How many Americans will blindly "get on that ship" again in 2012?

Polly on January 23, 2011 3:33 PM

I would ask the President if he is now or has
he ever told the truth? He, I believe, is nothing
more than a puppet. Someone or many someones are
pulling his strings. What was the world tour all
about. Going from country to country apoligizing
for America. Saying things like "America is no
longer a Christian nation". Bowing to other leaders. Ask yourself what was the purpose of this. has any other President said that American is not a Christian Nation? One more thing. I am afraid that voting Obama out will not stop this
ongoing destruction to our American way of life.
Time , thanks for all your work. I enjoy the replys and all of the input.

Ray Lindsey on January 23, 2011 4:22 PM

The one and only reason I watch this moron say anaything is to be on guard for what he DOES NOT say. Over the many clips of watching him talk and lie on everything he has ever said, I watch him in order to be informed on his latest lie. To know your enemy is to be able to defeat him. There is nothing this fool has said or done that can be considered for the good of the American people. He can give all the tax breaks he wants, because he will quietly slip in another tax to take that break away. The only reason he is supposedly headed to the "center" is to try and make the American people forget the first 2 years of his term. IF and only IF he were to get relected, he would turn about 180% and we'd be back where we are now, or worse. He is not to be trusted, and sure not to be given any respect for his detrimental actions to and on behalf of the greatest nation on Earth, THE UNITED STATES OF AMAERICA!!

Cindy Moore on January 23, 2011 4:40 PM

This president is a fool if he thinks he will be re-elected in 2012. I find it amazing anyone voted for him in the first place. But we American are idiots for allowing our country to get to this point of bankruptcy. Both the Democrat and Republican party share the blame for this and they have totally destroyed our way of life. Our economy is quickly going down the tube and the printing of more money is really sinking us faster than we can imagine. Soon a $100.00 will be worth .25 cents.

We spend so much money on other countries welfare. We need to stop foreign aid, stop protecting the world and focus on our own country. Our terrorists problem that we currently facing was self induced. We helped to stop Russia from taking over a dust bowl. Then we bring these terrorists (The Blind Cleric)into our own country and allow them to plot against us. This really pisses me off, these idiots who were known terrorist were allowed into this country. This all is well documented (http://drtomoconnor.com/3430/3430lect01b.htm)....It's very sad so many people have lost their lives from the terrorist attacks. Our brave young people who are giving it their all for something we could have prevented. This is not 20/20 vision after the fact..This was well known before 9/11 ever occurred. I just hope our grand kids learn from our mistakes.

James on January 23, 2011 4:46 PM

I doubt that we will hear anything new on Tuesday Night.

Francs Rice on January 23, 2011 4:57 PM

It seems he is pretending to win Americans with sugar rather than vinegar. Suddenly he has turned conciliatory implying that he wants to work with us; where was this attitude during the Heath Care Debates? He's rather like the wolf who comes to the house of the little goats whose mama had gone out to find food. She warned them not to open the door to anyone but her. The wolf disguised himself in several different ways to convince the children that he was indeed their mama. I guess between now and the 2012 elections we will see many different disguises as the master pretender tries to fool us yet again. Beware, the big bad wolf!

Edna Earle on January 23, 2011 6:09 PM

I am sorry, but where has everyone been the last 30 years...So much of this was set in motion by past policies and deregulation of the banking and financial industries in the past 30 years ..There's been a lot of foxes in this henhouse folks. And perhaps Obama's another, but my fear is that what we have for choices in the 2012 election is frankly no better...just a fox of a different nature but no less self serving. And yes I of the opinion that we do need to do something about health care, that Cobra is not an option when people lose a job for most families as the cost is prohibitive; but what in it's place. And the debate goes on and on. The bottom line for me is that we need jobs, viable, decent paying jobs and much of our work has gone overseas for higher profits for U.S. corporations. I understand the profit motive and certainly it's important; but there's profit and there's bald faced greed. Is there a balance to be struck...certainly..Some unions had a stranglehold on certain industries and bascially drove them out of the country; but unless we change the course of this country and become a nation that actually manufactures goods again, I fear a good many things will be lost for our children's future. It has already begun. AND that is what Mr. Obama must focus on now because without decent jobs with futures for our children, you aren't going to have much of a tax base to pay off the debt that this nation is now strangling from. Mr. Obama...we need a man with a clear and concise vision for a comeback of values that were important when this nation was growing. Thrift and industriousness were part of those values. But if you havn't got the guts to say "no" when it's needed and the restraint to realize when things go too far from the "center", then perhaps many people's hopes were misplaced. The problem is, from you where do we go? And I don't have a clue about that.

Bdevine on January 23, 2011 6:42 PM

I have a question -- why do you take so many vacations? Why do you have so many celebrities entertaining in the White House?

Seriously, he doesn't have the control he did before this last election so now he's being nicey nice. He is so evil in my opinion. Like Edna said, a wolf in sheeps clothing. We need him OUT in 2012.

Linda Chiappetta on January 23, 2011 7:09 PM

Anyone who thinks you can elect to the office of the President the MOST liberal Senator, and then believe he will move to the center, is fooling themselves. A leopard never changes its spots, and he isn't about to change -- he will put on an act and attempt to make people believe he will change, but he most definitely will not. One term is ENOUGH!

Chuck Neeley on January 23, 2011 8:56 PM

Lots of words. Just words. Just the words of a man that has not gotten his hands dirty and never had to really work for a living.

Julio Lachaga on January 23, 2011 9:52 PM

We all need to remember what Obama and the liberal left has done to this country. Watch out for the media as well. They are all in bed together. Hearing the media report that Obama's popularity is improving makes me sick. I hope America doesn't believe all this hype.

Wayne on January 23, 2011 10:29 PM

Sounds like a lot more bull$#@* to me. He and his cronies created this mess and now wants sympathy while he finds more ways to screw the true american citizens. As a wize man once told me "you can always tell when a politician is lying, his mouth is moving". And so it is with this man every time he shows his face.

"It is the duty of the patriot to protect his country from its government." -–Thomas Paine (1737-1809)--

John on January 24, 2011 9:54 AM

After reading all the virtriol here and having a good laugh, it really shows me how misinformed and how much misplaced anger is out there. While am certainly not going to try to even start to respond to so many misguided statements here, we all as Americans owe it to our current president to give him a chance to work with the congress and senate to get the nations work done. As much as I disliked Bush and all of those failed policies and wars, I stood by my president as an American. The beauty of the freedoms we have is to have civil disagreements of policy, but not to denigrate the man as witnessed here. In all of the posts I see only a couple of 'reasonable response like 'Bdevines' post. The President isn't a king, it takes a lot of moving parts to make things happen and to move the chains regarding policies and laws. And remember the Republicans literally blocked any votes on anything for a number of years unless they got their tax cuts. Taking pot shots at Obama serves no purpose other than some instant gratification. And to be honest, after seeing Mitt Romney win a straw poll as the front runner for President scares me even more, but thats just me. Ok Tim, open the floodgates!!! Lol!

Tom Angell on January 24, 2011 10:22 AM

I'm not impressed. Lincolin said it best. You can fool some of the people some of the time. some of the people all the time, but you can't fool all the people all the time.
Hopefully his state of the union won't include how wonderful the new ACORn is now that it has changed it's name. I don't believe anything this man says

carol montgomery on January 24, 2011 11:34 AM

Question for Mr. Obama: Why did you lie about reading an article of a black man who tried to change the color of his skin and yet no article has ever been found? Why do you lie about things that most would never even consider important? Are you trying to create a persona that is acceptable to American voters? (Roots of Obama's Rage, by Dinesh D'Souza)

Questions for American voters: Do you really want to re-elect a man who has contributed greater debt to our country than any other and promoted Marxist values? Can you imagine the damage he could do as a "Lame-Duck" president? Is it a gamble you are willing to take with a chameleon personality?

Sherry on January 24, 2011 11:35 AM

As for Obama and his ilk, they are a cancer in/on this country and must be cut out. The alternative is they will continue to poison, infect, and kill. Do NOT be deceived, he is only interested in being re-elected to prolong his "take-over" agenda, and will say/do whatever it takes to remain in power. Ask yourself, how many of his campaign promises has he actually kept? Is this what you want from your President?

Jeff on January 24, 2011 12:55 PM

They needed a leader and all they got was a deceiver who prayed on the believers.

Eric on January 24, 2011 1:26 PM

The question I have for BHO is the same question I have for all our elected officials.

Will you and the congress be able to govern over the next two years or will this session of Congress be two years of political posturing?

My second question: Is our system of government capable of governing? It seems to me that our system has devolved into an election in November and then 2 years of campaining for the next election.

John C on January 24, 2011 3:34 PM

Centrist????No way I'm going to believe that!
All this big "show" about him becoming a centrist is for his own ideological expediency.... in my humble opinion.

The only way I am going to believe that he has become a centrist is when he admits (with honest humility) that he realizes that his ideological policies are wrong for America and therefore will do everything in his power to reverse the damage that his policies have caused to this great Nation ... and also be man enough to admit that he cannot blame everything on Bush ... and oh yeah! also admit that he was wrong about "fundamentally changing America". If there is anything in America that needs "fundamental change" it is in Washington DC.

I haven't read his book but reliable people who have read his book have said that he finds the Constitution a "hindrance".If the Constitution is a hindrance why in the world did he run for the Presidency?? One can swear a solemn oath to uphold and protect the Constitution but can that oath be carried out when the Constitution itself is a hindrance to him/ her??...

I understand Obama may be taking a radical new approach to his speaking style tonight. Check out this leaked tape

3 million dollars to the law firm Coi Parker for services in keeping Mr. Obama's personal records from being released? Where are the proofs that Mr. Obama is actually a citizen of the U. S. of A.? So much for transparency!

I hope most of the people here who have commented so negatively again the President don't call themselves Christian.

Tom Angell said it best: There are a lot of misinformed people with misplaced anger here. If you disagree, do it with data and logic, not baseless, childish ridicule and name calling.

For example, it is fact that under Ronald Reagan, more debt was created on a percentage basis than any other president. That doesn't mean Reagan was all bad, does it? Obama has no choice but to increase the debt right now. Otherwise, the economy would crash.

DEMOCRAT GOD OF GOVERNMENT

American politics has devolved into one Party (democrat) having government as its god with at least 12 archangels (taxes, abortion, debt, victim worship, socialism, national guilt, class warfare, secularism, regulation, distractions, lies and smears).

The voters gave OUR pocketbook to democrats in 2007 and after just four years America is 14+ trillion in debt!
This alone should suffice to jar the most "moderate" voter but we also got near zip for all the spending of OUR money.
The U6 number which includes those wanting a f. t. job, not finding a job or giving up looking is now above 17% by charitable estimates. That is 2x the 2006 figure. Blame shifting and denial do not change that.

Now those same democrats who (over) maxed our VISA are assembling the obligatory "rent a mobs" of unions or just kooks to put on a crybaby show against near about all non-military spending cuts to the monster federal budget. Does your head hurt yet? Is it spinning in disbelief?

Those awesome wonderful taxpayer-supported "growing government agenda arms" like NEA, NPR, ETV, Planned Parenthood, yada yada yada are so incredibly wonderful that they cannot support themselves privately, go figure that logic.
The ineffective Head Start babysitting service for minority votes and the bloated invasive Dept. of Education itself are considered holy but in reality simply tax money eaters (soon expected to get "mobs on demand" to continue charging our maxed VISA billions). Any opposition "hates kids", right? Its all so tiresome.

The parade of victims, the games with figures and the smears of those wanting simple efficiency or explanations of where the money went or the results is so very very tiresome. Does anyone remember around 1970 when a certain group (Nader's I think) went into D. C. federal buildings about 10am and just opened door after door? They found many quiet empty offices and even some with highly paid employees fast asleep on their desk. Ever hear of a fired federal employee? Why are they exempt from Oz-Care? Would you like 4-12% annual budget increases just for existing? Did I mention over 200,000 federal employees were added last year?

America is broke.
Stop the distractions, lies and smears.
The democrat secular socialist experiment has failed like it has world wide.
When will the democrats of America own up to reality?
For God's sake, if not now, when?
